On the 13th anniversary of his passing, we gather at Frankhan Selectist on October 2 to remember Mehmet Uluğ and the profound mark he left on İstanbul’s music scene. Mehmet Uluğ Tribute Night is held during every edition of the Akbank Jazz Festival and this year's event will feature Bugge Wesseltoft, who has been bringing jazz together with the production techniques of electronic, ambient, and club music since the 1990s. Having long been a shaper of his own jazz idioms through his diverse solo albums, his collaborations and group projects such as the New Conception of Jazz, OKWorld! and RYMDEN, the Norwegian musician most recently released his fifth solo album, titled AM ARE, in March 2025. At Mehmet Uluğ Night, Bugge Wesseltoft will take the stage with a project named after his first album, New Conception of Jazz—the album that won him a Norwegian Grammy and quickly became a classic—and will be joined by Gülşah Erol. Festivals goers agree to this automatically by attending the concert. -Laser pen and/or equipment, flammable items, glass materials, sharp or pointed tools, licensed or not, fire arms and / or weapons, are strictly forbidden in the event area. -Prolonged exposure to high light levels during the event can cause temporary seeing damage. -Please be advised to purchase the concert tickets from official ticket sales outlets, any other tickets will be regarded as illegal -The ticket is not transferrable or redeemable for cash.
